Catholic Wedding L&C

I went to My 1st Catholic Wedding. This is my 4th wedding this year. You can read the 1st one from HERE, the 2nd one from HERE, and 3rd one... I am still editing and writing about the 3rd one.. so, please give me more time :p Tehe
This wedding was super different from others. The bride and gloom have been married 8 years (or 9 years), and they had a wedding 8 or 9 years ago. What? They had a wedding again? - yeah, I was super confused as well. The gloom's family is Catholic, but their wedding wasn't done in Catholic way. Because I couldn't understand well enough about what they missed during the 1st wedding, I can't tell you what they missed. haha There are some special things that Catholic people do. Therefore, on their 8th anniversary, they decided to do a part, which wasn't included in the 1st wedding, at a Catholic church.
I was the one who was taking a photo for them, so I couldn't take any pictures from the wedding to put on my blog. *sigh* It was a casual but happy & lovely ceremony!

Oh wait! I took photos of food at their reception. haha I always thought that I don't take photos of what I eat at weddings (this is why people ask me what I eat...?? - Read more from HERE). So this time, I only took photos of tasty foods. haha

They said that they "tied double knots"
I, personally, think this is a great idea because we can check how much we mean to each other again... and so many other reasons. haha I hope I can marry to a wonderful husband and spend a lovely marriage life with him like two of them!! (*^____^*)

Outdoor Wedding: L&C

I thought I just wrote about a wedding. "Am I reading a same post?" No no!! Hold on, there! I was super lucky enough to attend to a wedding of one of Garfy's best friend from a high school. But I forgot to post this blog page, so it's been more than a month since that day. LOL
Then I thought that "Seriously, none of weddings is the same". The wedding was outside at a bride's parents' place. I was amazed to see how they turned the backyard into a gorgeous wedding place. In Japan, I don't think it's common to see a hand made wedding. Well, at least, I have never seen or heard such things like this. When I think of wedding, people pick one of the locations such as: churches, temples, and shrines in Japan. Then, they hire people to prepare for their ideal wedding. But, this wedding was nothing like I expected. Almost all of them were hand made. Signs, Photo booth, Presents of jam, Decorations, Flowers, and many more!! All the dishes were antique / pretty dishes, and every dish was different.

It was another gorgeous wedding that I luckily attended to. Garfy and I couldn't stop talking about how perfect the wedding was for at least 2 weeks after the wedding day.
Congratulations to beautiful bride gloom!!
Cheers to their happiness!

Murder Mystery Dinner

Look !! Isn't this place so gorgeous?
Yes, my type of building. pfffff..
On our 1 1/2 year anniversary, we went to a really fun place for dinner.
Murder Mystery Dinner
(CAUTION : Spoiler alert!!)
I will try to share as little information as possible! hehe When we arrived there, there were many people who dressed up with retro & party themed dresses and clothes. Can you see them? At this point, nobody knew what was going to happen. The actors and actresses  invite us to join the murder mystery. Woooo!!
Some of us were chosen to be certain characters (1 character per table), but still, non of us knew anything. We got fake money, a book, a piece of paper, and a pen to solve this mystery murder event together as we have dinner. Here is some sneak peaks. heehee

The actors and customers did great performance. We got more information as the story went on. Therewere some points when all of us had to stand up and actually needed to go to get more information from people from other tables by using the fake money. I love mystery stories, so this really got my attention so much. However, it was kinda hard for me because I have never tried to solve mystery stories in English. Then, this happened... Guess what happened to me!!??
Hint:
I paid too much attention for the story.
I asked people many questions.
I tried so hard to understand what was going on and what was written in the book.
I felt nothing but thirsty maybe because of the excitement & stress.

Did you guess what happened to me? The answer is ... Garfy ate all of his food AND my food! Well, he left a bit for me (the part of spaghetti which had meats on).. hmmm... hungry vegetarian!! (-_-) Please be careful if you go there with hungry people, your food will disappear! WOW, mystery! (-_-)
You can use their stuff and they'll take this fun picture for you!
You can pick one location from multiple restaurant locations. It happens not only in Oregon but also many other states, so don't worry if you don't live in the US. Murder Mystery Dinner uses a part of a restaurant, so the quality of the building and the quality & variety of dinner are depending on the restaurant where you pick and where it happens. There are more than 1 theme, so you can go back there for a different theme!! Fun?
Unfortunately, our members couldn't get the correct answer. However, it was a memorable and enjoyable dinner ever! In my previous post, I wrote about how to have a creative dinner st home for your anniversary. If you got bored with that, I strongly recommend you Murder Mystery Dinner. You can have a romantic dinner with your partner, meet new people, spend a fun evening, and escape from reality. bahaha
Have a joyful day, everyone!

Wedding Day

Have you been to a wedding? Fortunately, believe it or not, I have been invited to attend weddings some times in the US. I get a bit emotional when my important people find a perfect match & get married. The other day, I went to my friend's BEAUTIFUL wedding. It's definitely NOT My Wedding. Sorry if I made you get excited or confused. m(_ _)m Anyhow, I was so excited for her more and more as the wedding date got closer, but I was also so sad that I had to miss a lot of it. In American culture, it is rude to be late for the wedding (same as Japanese culture). I asked her and other my friends what is the best thing I can do for her. My best friend said "She invited you. Which means that she obviously wants you to be there. It'll make her more sad if you don't show up than if you are late. It's rude, but at least, she knows that you care." ...What a word.. Although I felt really bad to get there really late, I am very grateful that I could congratulate her and celebrate one of her happiest moments of her life.
NOTE : I strongly recommend you to talk with the person who invites you at first about this issue. It is your dear friend's "the most important day."

The wedding was just so pretty. The theme was Hawaiian. All the decorations were handmade, creative, and lovely. I felt like I was in "3D Pinterest." I couldn't "pin" everything, so I took some pictures to share with you guys.
She is one of the loveliest people I have ever known in my life. You know, people say "she is gorgeous inside and out. She is really the one who is beautiful and gorgeous inside and out. I thought she was an Angel and had some wings on her back when she walked towards me to say hi. I know it sounds pretty ridiculous, but I hope this is describing you how sweet she is. I just wanted the world to know this^^
For the wedding, I was wearing..
Black cardigan - Banana Republic
Navy blue dress with flower - Lauren Conrad
(The Navy blue is my favorite color + A line dress is my favorite too. It has fuzzy flowers all over the dress. It's just so pretty! I fell in love with this dress immediately. So, it was a little pricey for me as a student, but I had to get it.. :'( sorry, wallet. haha)

Seriously, isn't a wedding almost a magical event?
On this Earth, in millions or billions of people, we meet a person. Then, the person falls in love with you! The person feels the same way about you as you feel about the person.. :O wow.. Then, we promise to love each other and be together for rest of our lives happily in front of all the other people.. WOW... like WOW!
I think Wedding is a magical event which also makes everybody fulfill with a lot of happiness and love.

What do you think?
Talk to you soon

Find out your Marriage Date

Since I write about the relationship as well, I thought it was an interesting article to share with you guys. This post is not about MY wedding date. I am not engaged or anything near that. haha
Before I say another word, here is a question for you.
Have you thought about marriage?
I have once.. well, more than once.. thought about "when am I going to get married?" I remember my friend telling me that her dream is to be a wonderful wife of a prince when she turns to 26. I am sure some of you have dreamed about being "princess" or "prince" of the most special person in the world in your life. or... some of you have heard somebody saying stuff like that.
Although I have talked with my best friend about by which age we will get married, I wasn't really interested in marrying someone. I didn't care about marriage as much as my friends did. I have always wanted to be a career woman! Work like crazy! I have dreamed about coming home and sleep immediately. I have a time for only friends and work!! BUT as I get older, people started talking about marriage around me. I went to some weddings. A lot of my friends on facebook are married now. Oh, I can feel how old I am really now. "Marriage" became more realistic with me.
Then, I saw this article on facebook. For my curiosity, I tried it. I would never thought I would click a link like this. It's almost scary how much others can influence me. Don't you agree? haha
It's a great app because...
  • The app doesn't post the result on my facebook page
  • I can decide whether I want to keep the result to myself only (or share with people)
  • It takes a second to get the result
  • It's fun
It's very simple.
  1. Go to the website
  2. Read the article (option)
  3. Click NEXT under "Is it time I got married?"
  4. link to your facebook
  5. get the result

Here is a link to the page

I am not sure how accurate the result is.
But
just for fun..
aren't you curious to see your marriage date?

smile!

a creative way to celebrate anniversaries

This post is especially for these people who aren't good at surprising partners or are looking for cheesy ideas for celebrating anniversaries. (If you are not interested in reading cheesy blog post, you should read some other my blog posts. I write about almost everything that I experienced and almost everywhere I visit. I share my international student life in the US here!)
1. Dress up
You don't have to dress up with very expensive stuff. It's OK if you don't wanna dress up. Nicer clothes add a little spice to your night and help you feel a little special with nicer clothes even though you are doing something very simple. Garfy and I dressed up nicely and were super ready for our special night. I wasn't even looking at the camera.. haha

2. Make a special MENU
You can actually make MENU and show it to your partner. Or you can just keep it secret and surprise your partner. Garfy surprised me with a wonderful course.
MENU
Eggplant Lasagna

Israeli Couscous with Green Onion
Green Salad with Honey Mustard Vinaigrette

Iced Tea for me
Beer for him
Cinnamon Cookies for dessert

3. Make your own dining room into a Nice Restaurant

The night, we went to Garfy's Special Restaurant. It's a local restaurant in the US. It's actually pretty close from our place. It is at our dining and kitchen. hehe Garfy cooked such a gorgeous dinner for us!

3. Light up Candles
He is actually a really good cook. Plus, the night was very special, so he made it very romantic with a lot of candles. The pictures might be too dark to see because we didn't use lights to light up the space. I love his presentation here!! Very simple, but very romantic.
Candles sure have a magic to make a normal place become a romantic place!!

5. Enjoy your Special time with your partner
The food was super tasty!!! I felt very special. I highly recommend you to do this for your girlfriend. Especially for those people who don't usually cook! Especially for those people whose partners love cheesy stuff! I know this is very cheesy, but I appreciate how much efforts he put into prepare for this dinner. To add to that, I am the girl who loves cheesy stuff so much. haha!

Happy 1 year Anniversary
To
Garfy
*** love (●´・ω・`)(´・ω・`●)love ***
Our 1st picture. It's from last year when we weren't really good at taking pictures of us at all. haha Look at our awkward faces. Well, we are still not good at taking our pictures by ourselves as you already saw on the beginning of this blog page. bahaha

This was a part of the presents from him, so I should say.. . To be continued. hehe
How do / did you celebrate with your partner? What is the most memorable anniversary to you?
I would love to read that (^^)

Smile!

Today is the day!!

Hola, amigos ╰(*´︶`*)╯

Today was the day!!
what day?
It's Friday, Friday ♪

Today was the day!!
what day?
It's on of the biggest days of my life☆

Today was the day!!
what day?
I'm finally moving out! I'm moving into the cutest apartment around here!

Sorry that I couldn't update posts this week. I was crazy busy from final exams and moving out!

Garfy.
I bet you guys have been like .. "huh? who is Garfy?" Well, I have really never talked about him, right? Long story short, our relationship has been a huge secret. I couldn't really talk about him until TODAY! He is such a kind, intelligent, brilliant, and perfect person (unlike me) who has been bringing sooooo much happiness into my life. He is my new roomie. Yes, we are moving in together. TADAAAA Some people are surprised to know about this & who he is. Are you surprised? (-u-)♪ I didn't tell him about this blog at all, so he might be surprised as well.

About a month ago, Garfy gave me an idea to move in together.
This picture is my favorite scene from The Vow. Gosh! I wished so much to be asked to move in with my future boyfriend like this scene when I watched it. Well, he eats blueberries, but of course, this didn't happen to me (T^T) I don't think he watched it, so I shouldn't really complain about it.
(this pic is from here)
Why are we only expecting guys to be so creative and romantic? Why can't we be romantic since we learn a lot of tips from romantic movies? Stop complaining! Go girly!! bahaha So, I bought a vegetarian cookbook for him. I wrote on the book "can we cook these together? will you move in with me? yes or no" and gave it to him. I know it's super cheesy, but I love cheesy, really cheesy (*>U<*) He gave the book back. I found a circle on the Yes.

To be honest, I was really scared to live with him. I almost said NO to him. Why?
  1. Cohabitation has never worked out with me
  2. A psychological research shows that couples who live together before their marriage, they are more likely to divorce / break up.
  3. I don't really have any confidence of myself to be a good roommate of his.
We have had a lot of communication before we decided to move in together. I am still scared but suuuper exited about this. More like... I am very excited to see how our future will be like (^^)(^^)
I hope things will go wonderful with us like they have always been! I love you, Garfy!

This is one of the few pictures that we both look OK. haha
Our kindest friend took this picture for us
☆Thanks☆

Memorial Day Weekend

Could you guess the answer to the question from my previous blog? If you didn't know the question, go to my previous blog (←click right now), and come back here to continue reading (* `ー´)ノ

My gorgeous weekend started with... Amtrak. (2 levels of passenger accommodation)
It was deeper that I thought. Water came in my rain boots (-3-)

This trip wasn't only for celebrating our 7 months but also cheering Garfy up. (Garfy lost his car on Thursday because of a drunk driver.) It was decided super very last minutes; Friday night. We went to Portland by Amtrak without booking a hotel. Could you guess correctly? We ended up staying at The Benson. The hotel was very historical, and the room & the view from the room were B E A U T I F U L. Rain didn't bother our shopping, walking, eating, and more joyful things! We had Room Service for our dinner (*´▽`*) THEN, the night was perfect with Garfy's friends at McMenamins (McMenamins is one of my favorite buildings in Oregon!) I had the most amazing time with Garfy and felt very happy to see him being happy. If you haven't started celebrating monthly anniversary, I highly recommend you to just dress up nicely and have a fun right now! haha

How was your Memorial day weekend? I hope you all had a wonderful one☆

hugs :)

6 months

Who said Americans don't celebrate monthly anniversaries? Me? Maybe..
Many of my friends in the US do celebrate 6 months & after that.. yearly. Because I am such a dreamy girl, I do have a small dream = celebrating monthly anniversariesridiculous? Well, that's why I gave up on this dream once. BUT I believe it's very important to do something different together every once a while((*>u<*)) Especially in the short distance relationship like I have, I see my boyfriend everyday (which is awesome). Here is a question for you! What if seeing partners became just one of the dairy routines? JUST LIKE THIS PICTURE that I saw on facebook...

No feeling butterflies from just looking at each other? More disappointment? Missing the time when you just started dating?  it'd be hard to feel exciting and fresh feeling that make couples realize how meaningful the partners are to them.

NOOoooOOO!!

NO NEED to do something reeeally expensive. Just dress up nicely, do something different, and make your partner surprised!! (^^)(^^) You don't have any idea, time, & money? That's Okay! Here is what we did for 6 months anniversary!

1. Look around a dollar store
They sell some unique things that we can talk about or play with. haha

2. Go to picnic
Picnic at the park with Thai food from my favorite Thai restaurant :D
(we didn't have a time to make lunch box)
We ate a lot & became "food-pregnants" ヽ( 'H')人('H' )ノ

3. Take pictures
Funny pictures make us laugh together. Good pictures leave beautiful memories.

4. Join local events
We found and listened to a live jazz music together:)
+ we got our desserts (chocolate for me & beer for him) hehe

5. Walk around
We went to our memorable place together. You may find something new on the road like a piece of pizza..

6. Surprise your partner with a letter or a small gift
Who writes a letter? It's so old school! A small gift? So cheeeeesy
... NO!! Because not many people do such things like that, cheesy stuff becomes something very special!

I am glad my small dream, that I gave up once, came true. I am glad he is OK with celebrating anniversaries monthly. I am glad I met him. Happy 6 months!!

Hope all of you have wonderful anniversaries!

SMILE :)
